Books, Books, and More Books

Let me just say this and get it out of the way... I L.O.V.E. BOOKS!  I'm a bibliophile; I love reading and collecting books.

 I am very slowly building my own library with books i love. I have the Lord of the Rings set, Chronicles of Narnia set, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (1-4), books by Anne McCafferey, V.C. Andrews, Chris D'Lacey and a few other authors. I've also got the Bodyguard Series by Cindy Gerard, The Accidental Witch Trilogy by Annette Blair, Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris, Witches of Eastwick by John Updike, some of Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series and Merry Gentry series, The Vampire's Betrayal by Raven Hart, Stephanie Meyers' Twilight and New Moon, and A Vision of Murder by Victoria Laurie.
I also have books on Physiology, Feng Shui, an Irish Song Book, Decorating Books, and Science.

I also have the following books (pictured above): Monsters: An Investigators Guide to Magical Beings by Micheal Greer, A few dream dictionarys, my astrology books, and my tarot and palmistry books. Not pictured is my Celtic Magic by DJ Conway.

Ok, I honestly don't know how many books I've checked out and read from the library so far; but I emailed the library asking if there was a way to find out. As of right now I have just finished reading the Divine series (except 1) and the House of Night series (except the last one) by P.C. Cast. I'm currently reading Introduction to Paganism and starting Mr. Darcy, Vampyre today; since these are due by Saturday. I've started Skin Trade by LKH but will finish it after these books. I also have out volumes 1-3 (books 1-9) of the Night World series by LJ Smith. So, I have alot of reading to do and better get to it.

Online Courses

I have been trying to decide what I want to post here and decided that I will share a few sites I've checked out that offer free "Pagan" type courses.
First is Magicka School - It has a 12 month beginner's course in Wicca; It also has a 20 week beginner's course in Tarot. I'm taking both of these courses.
Next is Witch School - Their free courses that I have already taken are: Athame 101, Before you cast a spell, Intro to Wands 101, and Writing Reports and Papers. Courses that I am currently in are: Correllian Wicca-First Degree, Basic meditation, Basic Spell Writing, Intro to Wands 102,and Magic Names. There are still quite a few other free courses to take as well.
Now we have FireFly Academy - at this time Im not currently enrolled in any classes but here is some they offer: Wicca: 1-3, tools 1-3, elements & sabbats; Paganism: Paganism 1, Pagan Cooking, Pagan Parenting; World Religions; Divination: Astrology, Runes, Tarot, scrying; Meditation; and Magic.
Last we have Magickal Circle School - This site you can only take up to 3 courses at one time. Im currently only taking one and that is the Creating a Book of Shadows course.  Some other courses include: Basic Elements, Basic Wicca, Spell Correspondence, The Moonlit path, Divination, God and Goddess Studies, Healing, Herbology, Languages, Magik, Mythologies, Pagan Studies, Paths and Witchy Crafts.

A Tarot Reading

Last Night I checked my blogs and on Midnight Moon Cafe, they advertised a tarot reading so I stopped by  and these were the results! Thank You Cassandra!

Your reading was done using the Mermaids and Dolphins Tarot Deck.

The spread I used for the reading is a four card pull called the four tides.



The first card refers to the current situation in which you find

yourself and the beginning of the question foremost in your mind.



King Poseidon

Keywords: Universal Power



King Poseidon is a good card for you. By using your own positive

energy, creativity, intellect, and willpower, you'll have success.

Poseidon is about raw power too though and storms, so remember to keep

yourself grounded close to the shore and not to get carried away on a

reckless tide by another person or situation. Luck begins to settle in

your life and builds on its own success.



This is a time to restore your energy and relax -- take note of the

seas ahead and chart your course carefully and thoughtfully.





The second card reflects a period of perhaps five to six months in the future and it the turning point card.





The Lorelei

Keyword: Victory



The Lorelei is all about victory. The Lorelei spins the threads of destiny and much like her you control the threads of your future. You weave your own luck. The decisions you make during this time will impact your horizon in ways you may not expect. Look within and trust your instincts.





The third card reflect possible obstacles that may stand in your way, and also signifies a time period in the near distant future, perhaps six months to a year from now.





The Spotted Dolphin

Keyword: Happiness



The Spotted Dolphin swims the high seas and as such predicts good fortunes ahead. News from a special someone will bring great relief and happy tidings.

With their ability to hear and distinguish different sonar tones and sound waves, the Spotted Dolphin indicates you will hear and understand the subtle intonations of others during this time, being more sensitive to their unspoken thoughts and feelings will bring great rewards. This is especially true of the person closest to you. You will receive the answer you seek and shared happiness is the result.





The fourth card is the overall card for the reading.



The Water Leaper

Keyword: Elevation



The Water Leaper is a giant winged toad that leaps above any obstacles and keeps his head above water. The good deeds you do will come back to you times three. Water Leapers often break fishing lines, so this card could mean it is time to break or cut ties with a current place, person, object, or addiction

that is stopping your progress.



A single decision could change things far more than you realize. Your life will be transformed for the better, possibly in ways you never envisioned.
